Make High Street Fit for Bicycles

High Street is the main artery into Greentown, but it has little to no cycling provision. Whilst this didn't used to be a problem, the increased uptake of cycling, particularly by commuters, is starting to be make the situation unmanageable. However, the street is easily wide enough to create a dedciated cycle lane and I suggest the money should be spent here.

Why the contribution is important

Because better cycling provision saves lives, improves the health of Greentown residents and will reduce the traffic on the roads - what's not to like?

Thanks Ben! This is just the sort of thing we're looking for. However, have you considered how this might be funded and the wider implications to road users?

This is a much needed idea and investment. I'm an avid cyclist and I have never felt safe cycling down Scotland Street, there just isn't enough space. It would be great to widen the street to accommodate cyclists.
